The running & walking experiences of an 86 year old man. I used to run and walk alone, but now I walk with my wife, although I sometimes go walking alone. My overall goal is to reach age 100 and still be walking for my long and medium walks. I enjoy my walks, especially those with my wife, although I miss going long distance.

Pictures of the Heron that I've been seeing on my runs
Herons are waders, and I got pictures this morning of him wading in the Jordan River. When I saw him before, he was standing on the dead branch that was sticking out of the water. I hoped he would wade to the branch and stand on it, but he flew away. Click a picture for a larger image.

Beautiful bird...and a great place to run. No wonder you are inspired!
ReplyDeleteI've been fortunate to find running places that are away from automobile traffic and its smog. I really loved to run the back roads in New England. Here in Utah, I ran maintenance roads to irrigation canals for several years, and I'm currently running the Jordan River Parkway. The Jordan River connects Utah Lake (fresh water) with the Great Salt Lake.
