The running & walking experiences of an 86 year old man. I used to run and walk alone, but now I walk with my wife, although I sometimes go walking alone. My overall goal is to reach age 100 and still be walking for my long and medium walks. I enjoy my walks, especially those with my wife, although I miss going long distance.

My runs are dedicated to Bruce
My running friend, Bruce, who comments frequently in this blog has been diagnosed with cancer. Tomorrow is his first treatment of chemotherapy. For the next several weeks, he isn't able to run, and a bunch of us in the forum at running.about.com decided to let Bruce know he has our love and support during this difficult time in his life. My run today, and all of my runs during the next few weeks are dedicated to Bruce.

Live strong, Bruce. The oncologists gave me a 50 percent chance last year. Now I'm training for my first 10K at age 50. Never give up. You can do it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pennsy, for thinking of Bruce! I left a link to your comment on his blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks Allen, I'll reply to Pennsy soon!
