Ran for 40 Minutes in the Gym

We've had snow and cold weather since the first of the year. I think we went for 10 days straight with the daytime temps being below freezing. I wasn't sure the towns had plowed the Parkway path, and I didn't want to risk having ice under a dusting of snow, so I went to the gym and used the indoor track. It's too noisy there (basketball and soccer games) to use my timer, so I just ran until I felt I needed a walking break.

    I have homemade ice shoes that should take care of the ice, but since I have a free gym membership, I'm taking advantage of that. I wouldn't want to do a lot of gym running, but a few days here and there is OK.

  3. Thanks for the inspiration. I'm 53 now and running about 25 miles a week. I live in nc and I love to run outdoors even when its 25 f. But I stay away from ice, I have to have solid footing. Running 6 miles on the treadmill is not much fun though
