The running & walking experiences of an 86 year old man. I used to run and walk alone, but now I walk with my wife, although I sometimes go walking alone. My overall goal is to reach age 100 and still be walking for my long and medium walks. I enjoy my walks, especially those with my wife, although I miss going long distance.

Ran a short test-run
I decided to do a short (0.6 mile) test run this morning to see how my right leg reacted to it. I ran around the block from where I live, and so far, my leg feels fine. However, my leg usually feels fine after a run,and it's the next day when the soreness comes in. So, I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Hi Allen: I just checked back on your blog to see what you've been up to. Sorry to hear about the injury- I am nursing tendinitis in the r. foot and am irritated it's taking longer than I thought to resolve. I've been trying cross training, but haven't found anything I like as much as running! Hope the recovery continues and that you'll be back on the road in no time!
ReplyDeleteHi Marie, it is interesting how long some of these injuries take to heal. It's been 5 months, and my injury still isn't fully healed. Such is life :)
ReplyDeleteBTW, I like your profile picture. I was a Scoutmaster for 12 years in Massachusetts (Pepperell, just west of Groton on the NH border). I did a lot of hiking with the scouts and with my family, including two trips up Washington and many hikes up Monadnock.
