I discovered that I can move around my house with no help from the 1/2 walker or a cane, as long as the floors are level with each other and steps are not involved.
I made it up and down 5 steps of the way to the 2nd floor of my house. That is 1/3 of the way to the 2nd floor.
Please don't be shy about using the cane or walker. Even if you were to fall, the cane can help ease/lessen the fall. Please keep moving & progressing no matter the difficulty eventually you will be fine again. Always keep in mind that the move to long term care is a one way trip. Fight fight fight! ReplyDeleteI still use the 1/2 walker around the house, because I'm desirous of having the walker if I'm tired or for other reasons get dizzy. When I leave the house for an appointment with a doctor, I use a wheel chair since I have to wait for the doctor.
